This Monorail has turned black featuring the Hulk, Captain America, Iron Man, Hawkeye, Black Widow, and and Thor along with The Avengers logo. The Avengers is a 2012 superhero film produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures, based on the Marvel Comics superhero team the Avengers. It is the sixth installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film was written and directed by Joss Whedon and features an ensemble cast, which includes Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, Gwyneth Paltrow, Stan Lee, and Cobie Smulders. In The Avengers, Nick Fury, director of the peacekeeping organization S.H.I.E.L.D., recruits Iron Man, the Hulk, Thor, and Captain America to form a team. The group of superheroes must stop Thor's brother Loki from destroying Earth. This movie does not have Spider-man. But rumor has Spider-man will be on the sequel Avengers 2. This film was not shot in 3D but converted to 3D in post-production. In addition to Marvel's The Avengers, Marvel Studios will also release a slate of films based on the Marvel characters including "Iron Man 3" on May 3, 2013; and "Thor 2" on November 15, 2013. We should have a "Avengers 2" somewhere in 2015 possibly with Spiderman in the cast.
